Omegle Never Had Group Chats. We Just Built Them.

GhostRoom Engineering

When Omegle shut down, it left a massive hole in the internet. But if we are being completely honest, the classic 1-on-1 random chat format can sometimes get exhausting. You skip, you skip, you skip—looking for a decent conversation.

Today, GhostRoom is fundamentally changing how anonymous chatting works by introducing Public Group Rooms. It’s the perfect blend of early-2000s IRC chat rooms and modern, lightning-fast architecture.

Why Group Chats?

Sometimes you just want to hang out. You don't want the intense pressure of a 1-on-1 conversation where you have to carry the whole dialogue. Group rooms allow you to be a lurker, drop a funny comment, or jump into a heated debate without the pressure of a private chat.

We engineered our group chats as a completely separate microservice running on a dedicated Supabase Realtime infrastructure. This means even if 10,000 people flood The Lounge, the 1-on-1 matchmaking servers won't even flinch.

Introducing The Rooms

The Lounge

The main public lobby. Connect and converse with everyone.

Flirt (18+)

Uncensored adult dating and flirting room.

The Void

Snapchat style. All messages vanish from existence after 10 seconds.

Gaming & Tech

Discuss the latest drops, PC builds, and find teammates.

Unique Features You Won't Find Elsewhere

We didn't just build basic chat rooms. We built The Void.

In The Void, messages are completely ephemeral. They are never saved to our database. They are broadcasted directly to the browsers of the people in the room, and after exactly 10 seconds, our client-side engine permanently deletes them from your screen. It creates a frantic, highly-engaged environment where you have to pay attention or miss the joke entirely.

We also integrated rich media support. Drop a direct link to a GIF or image, and it renders directly inside the chat feed. We added live typing indicators and system presence messages so the room feels truly alive.
